Online exact differentiation and notion of asymptotic algebraic observers

چکیده
In recent years, the availability of computer-based methods has created a revival of interests in exploring algebraic methods in nonlinear context. This note proposes a new approach to algebraic nonlinear observer design. After giving the notion of algebraic observability, and based on a novel algorithm of exact differentiation, the formulation of the nonlinear observer is realized via the construction of a set of linear time-varying differentiators. An example of a chemical reaction is given to show the effectiveness of our approach.

REES SHORT EXACT SEQUENCES OF S-POSETS
In this paper the notion of Rees short exact sequence for S-posets is introduced, and we investigate the conditions for which these sequences are left or right split. Unlike the case for S-acts, being right split does not imply left split. Furthermore, we present equivalent conditions of a right S-poset P for the functor Hom(P;-) to be exact.
متن کاملFinite Observability and Asymptotic Observers for Delay Systems
For systems with commensurate discrete delays, the method of steps lets one compute the response with respect to arbitrary inputs and initial data. In fact, as long as one is only interested in the behavior of the system for finite time, a finite dimensional model of the system suffices. This is not so in the observation problem. Perfect knowledge of the output on any finite interval does not a...
متن کاملCaratheodory dimension for observers
In this essay we introduce and study the notion of dimension for observers via Caratheodory structures and relative probability measures. We show that the dimension as a three variables function is an increasing function on observers, and decreasing function on the cuts of an observer. We find observers with arbitrary non-negative dimensions. We show that Caratheodory dimension for obs...
متن کاملPeaking Attenuation in High-Gain Observers Using Adaptive Saturation: Application to a Ball and Wheel System
Despite providing robustness, high-gain observers impose a peaking phenomenon, which may cause instability, on the system states. In this paper, an adaptive saturation is proposed to attenuate the undesirable mentioned phenomenon in high-gain observers. A real-valued and differentiable sigmoid function is considered as the saturating element whose parameters (height and slope) are adaptively tu...
متن کاملSuperlinearly convergent exact penalty projected structured Hessian updating schemes for constrained nonlinear least squares: asymptotic analysis
We present a structured algorithm for solving constrained nonlinear least squares problems, and establish its local two-step Q-superlinear convergence. The approach is based on an adaptive structured scheme due to Mahdavi-Amiri and Bartels of the exact penalty method of Coleman and Conn for nonlinearly constrained optimization problems. The structured adaptation also makes use of the ideas of N...
